Drilling fluid requirements, screw drilling mud motor can work effectively for a variety of mud, including oil-based mud, emulsion mud and clay mud, and even water and so on. Mud viscosity and specific gravity have little effect on the drilling tool, but have a direct effect on the overall system pressure. If the recommended discharge pressure is greater than the rated pump pressure, the mud displacement must be reduced.

The slurry pressure requirements, When the drilling tool is floating, the displacement will not change, and the mud pressure drop through the drilling tool will not change. As the bit pressure increases, the mud circulation pressure increases and the pumping pressure increases. Screw drilling mud motor is working, when the drilling pressure reaches the maximum recommended pressure, bore produces the best torque to increase the pump pressure, when more than the maximum design pressure, the motor may brake, then immediately reduce the pressure to prevent internal damage to the drill.
